Sen President Saraki deny bullet proof SUV Car claims

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has denied Nigerian Customs Service claims that he is the owner of an illegally imported bullet proof Range rover SUV, sized by the Nigerian Custom services, according to  premium times READ HERE

In a statement on Tuesday, Mr. Saraki’s spokesperson, Yusuph Olaniyonu, said the allegation of importation of the vehicle by Mr. Saraki “lacked basis and was an outright falsehood”.
“From the facts and documents about the seized vehicle, it is obvious that the President of the Senate has nothing to do with the importation of any vehicle.
“A supplier was engaged by the Senate to supply a vehicle and while transferring the vehicle between Lagos and Abuja, it was impounded by Customs.
“We believe that is an issue between the supplier and the Customs because the Senate has not taken delivery.
“So, why is somebody trying to drag the name of Saraki into the issue?
“The documents on the vehicle are there for the general public to view and make their conclusions.
“Now that the matter has been referred to the Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, all the facts will be out,” Mr. Olaniyonu said.

PDP CRISIS: Francis Ottah, refute unconfirmed Media report

SSA MEDIA TO BAYELSA GOVT FRANCIS OTTAH REFUTE WRONG MEDIA REPORT ON PDP RECONCILIATION: As reactions and sometime unconfirmed news report continue to evolve, from the ongoing effort of the PDP reconciliatory committee, chaired by the country man Governor of Bayelsa state Hon Seriake Dickson, Senior Special Assistant on Media Relations to the Governor, Francis Ottah has come to refute a misconstrued media report by the News agency of Nigeria NAN, with the headline "PDP: Dickson Urges Markarfi to Step Down", he released the message to the Media through a Press release, also posted on his
Facebook account; READ BELOW

PRESS STATEMENT. 21/03/2017

The attention of the Chairman of the PDP Reconciliation Committee, Governor Seriake Dickson is drawn to a misleading headline: ''PDP: Dickson Urges Makarfi To Step  Down'' which of course has elicited the reaction of Prince Dayo Adeyeye. To set the record straight,  Governor Seriake Dickson spoke with a select group journalists last Saturday in Abuja on the PDP crisis but he never asked Makarfi to step down. In the said interview, the Governor as a peace maker stated his committee's role in the reconciliation process and argued that for PDP to bounce back, leaders must make sacrifices. He consequently appealed to PDP leaders including  Sheriff and Makarfi to make sacrifices for the revival of the party, stressing that the PDP is more than Sheriff and Makarfi and indeed any individual. This was what a NAN reporter who was at the interaction  misconstrued as stepping aside for which we have written to NAN management to complain.  Curiosly, only NAN misconstrued the Governor's interview, all other media organisations in the interaction reported the Governor correctly. A statement signed by Governor Dickson's Special Adviser on Media Relations, Francis Agbo states that inspite of the blackmail and propaganda scripted to distract Governor Dickson, the Governor and his Committee remain committed to reconciling all intetests through dialogue for only a political solution woven around dialogue and sacrifices can engender true reconciliation. The statement also added that the efforts of the Committee is beginning to yield dividends as the National Chairman, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff had publicly written, on the request of the Reconciliation Committee to undertake that he would not contest election at the unity convention; that he would not interfer in the selection of commiittee membership; that he had already written organs of the party for nominations into the convention committees; that all party officials  elected before the first botched Port harcourt Convention remain valid and lastly, all members of the party's NWC whose tenures are still running have agreed to resign to pave way for a unity Convention!

Gorelick said Trump would follow all the ethics rules that apply to government employees.

In a statement issued to the website Politico, Ivanka Trump acknowledged the lack of precedent for an adult child of the US president to take on such an ambiguous role: “I will continue to offer my father my candid advice and counsel, as I have for my entire life,” she said. “While there is no modern precedent for an adult child of the president, I will voluntarily follow all of the ethics rules placed on government employees.”

Since Donald Trump took office, his eldest daughter has been an increasingly visible presence in the White House, where her husband, Jared Kushner, already serves as a senior adviser.

On Friday she participated in a meeting on vocational training with the president and the German chancellor, Angela Merkel. She stepped down from her position at the Trump Organization before her father’s inauguration, but still owns her own fashion label.

Attorney Andrew Herman, who has advised lawmakers on ethics issues, said he thought the administration should make her role official. He said: “I think the right way to do that is to make her a special government employee. But that implicates all kind of formal and disclosure issues.”

Philippine President Duterte dare ICC, go on with brutal drug war

PRESIDENT DUTERTE'S KILLING DRUG WAR:

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, said he would not be intimidated by the possibility of the International Criminal Court (ICC) putting him on trial over his bloody war on drugs, promising that his campaign will continue in its brutal manner.

"I will not be intimidated and I shall not be stopped just by what? International Criminal Court? Impeachment? If that is part of my destiny, it is my destiny to go," Duterte speaking to reporters on Sunday, shortly before leaving for Myanmar.

"The drive against corruption, criminality and drugs will resume and it will continue and it will be brutal," he said.

"I will not be, for a moment, be out of focus on that. I rose on what I promised and I will fall on that."

In the note, the airman accused the lover he killed of deceiving him and his mother.

He said he was aware that “some idiot” would insult him for his actions, but bore no grudge as he would do the same if the tables were turned.

He, however, insisted that others in his shoes would do worse than what he did and suggested that he would prefer to be called the “crazy lover who died for heartbreak”.
